Caprivi River Lodge is situated on the lush banks of the mighty Zambezi River on the outskirts of Katima Mulilo, nestled under the shady canopy of tall indigenous trees; surrounded by green lawns and beautiful gardens that attract a wide variety of birdlife.
A theme throughout the lodge is the unique furniture and carvings. Incorporated in the main building is the lounge, bar, and kitchen, flowing from this is our dining Lapa and an extension to this are the decks and walkways overlooking the waters of the Zambezi. Last but not least is our boma fireplace with its’ African chairs where one can relax after dinner, chin wag, and finish off the evening.
Situated in the heart of the KAZA (Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area); Caprivi River Lodge is an ideal place in which to unwind and relax, and plan excursions to the national parks of the Zambezi region (Nkasa Lupala, Mudumu and Bwabwata); or to the neighbouring countries of Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe with world-renowned attractions such as the Chobe National Park or the world heritage site the “Victoria Falls’.
Caprivi River Lodge is a small exclusive lodge with only eight river-facing chalets (regrettably no camping facilities). Wake up to the chorus of bird calls early in the morning in one of our cool, comfortable thatched chalets. All chalets are en-suite and have a tea and coffee station, Wi-Fi, as well as complimentary toiletries. Our chalets have unique hand-made and hand-carved furniture all from local woods and carved by local artists.
The Zambezi (Caprivi-region) is Namibia’s wetland paradise and surrounded by the Kavango, Kwando, Zambezi, and the Chobe Rivers with their vast swamps and floodplains. Caprivi River Lodge is ideally situated almost in the center of this paradise and in the heart of KAZA. Caprivi River Lodge is located a mere 4.5kms from the town of Katima Mulilo with all the amenities of a modern town.
So whether you are a first-time visitor to the region, an avid birder, fisherman, nature lover, or interested in African culture and traditions; then the Zambezi (Caprivi) and its surrounds have it all in abundance. Built in 1997, the Caprivi River Lodge has developed and become part of the Zambezi Regions Tourism attractions. A good source of regional information on local attractions, game parks, and local conditions be it roads, cross border updates, and conditions.
